My wife were at the library and we saw Leona…a friend we have not seen in a few years. She is called the ‘Teddy Bear Lady’. She makes Teddy bears out of material that has sentimental value. For instance, once she made five Teddys from a lady’s bridal gown–one for each of the lady’s children. How this all started is a very beautiful and touching story. A lady on her block had lost a 4-year old little boy. Leona asked if she could have some of his denim clothes. She did not reveal what she planned. From the little guy’s clothing she made a Teddy bear for the bereaved mom. The mother cried and was so consoled when she was given the bear and understood all the love that went into it. Saw God in a Teddy bear!

I learned of this site while in conversation with Don (whom I’d just met) this afternoon. He told me the touching story of the teddy bear lady, but more importantly, he told me of Dan’s inspiration to set up this site.
Thanks, Don, for leading me here! Thanks, Dan, for reminding me to look for God more diligently!
